Why every dildo should have a flared base

Shopping for your next sex toy can be super exciting - after all, you're about to bring something new into the bedroom (or elsewhere). However, perusing for the perfect toy to add to your toy box can be tricky if the toy that you really want isn't compatible with the type of play that you want to use it in.

Vibrators, dildos, and even some anal toys often have designs which are not compatible with safe anal play or able to be worn in a harness, or they may be difficult to hold. While this may not be a deal breaker for some, it can be incredibly limiting to those who want to explore different types of play with a particular type of toy, or a toy that they already have which is not safe to use in that way. Or perhaps they may not have the dexterity to be able to use a toy without a base to comfortably grip.

Which is why creating inclusive sex toy designs is so important.
Not only does broadening the design range of a brand help to reach new customers, it also makes those customers (and their allies) feel as though they as people, and their needs, are being seen and met.
So why is a flared base so important in this context? It is a simple addition to a sex toy, whether that be a dildo, vibrator or anal toy, which changes the way that the sex toy can be used, and who it may be used by. At Clean Satisfaction, we believe that the sex toys we make are for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation or dexterity. Which is why every single toy that we create has a flared base - so the only limit to the use of our toys is based your level of comfort when choosing a size or design.

A flared base may not seem like much of a change, and we agree! It is a simple change to make to the vast majority of sex toy designs, which can make the world of difference! A flared base can make using a sex toy much more comfortable for someone who's dexterity is impacted. It can make the toy easier to hold in their hand, or allow them to easily use two hands to move the toy.
A flared base also means that the toy is harness compatible. While something being harness compatible often brings to mind strap-ons, there are other types of harnesses available, as well as different ways you can use a standard harness.

For example; a pillow harness is designed to clip around a pillow or cushion, allowing a dildo to be used hands-free. Not only does this make the dildo easier to ride without having to hold the base down, it can change the positions that you masturbate in, or how you include a dildo in your partnered play. Before you go rushing out to purchase a specific pillow harness, I should let you know that you can also use your current standard harness in this way as well. Simply use the straps to attach the harness firmly around a pillow or cushion - now you can go hands-free!

If a sex toy is harness compatible, it is also a more inclusive design for those in the LGBTQIA+ community who include harnesses in their play. You may be surprised how limiting shopping for any type of harness compatible sex toy is, that isn't a standard dildo.
Not only does creating sex toys with all sexual orientations, genders and levels of dexterity open doors for everyone to have access to affirming options for sex toys, it also helps promote safe sex toy use. Increasing the number of sex toy designs with flared bases across all price ranges helps to ensure the right toys are being used for the right uses.
For those who do not have the means to purchase more than one sex toy, a toy with a flared base allows them to use the same toy safely in multiple different types of play. For example; being able to use a dildo both vaginally and anally (as long as the material isn't porous), whether that be solo or shared with a partner. A dildo with a flared base is also safe to use anally, which is more comfortable as there is less worry about potentially losing the toy - no one wants an unnecessary trip to the emergency room!

On the surface, adding a flared base to a sex toy doesn't seem particularly revolutionary. However; a simple change in design can open up access to sex toys that are not only designed to pleasure physically, but also affirm the user as a person. No matter the reason you require a flared base on your sex toy, your needs and feelings valid.
